This was the battle that started the civil war. The confederacy won and four states joined the confederacy 

1861 battle of bull

1st battle of the civil war. Confederates scared the living daylights out of the northers by running and screaming at them the northers ran away and stamped over civilians. 

1862 Monitor vs. Mernmack

This the first battle between two metal covered ships. The north(Monitor) is successful in hold off the South(Mairmack)

1862 Battle of Antietam

Confederates drop the plans on attacking the Union. Union soldiers find the plans and attack the south. The bloodiest day of the war. Union wins after Confederates retreat 

January 1 1863 Emancipation Proclamation

On January 1 President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation

Battle of Chancellorville

Lee divided his troops for an assault on Union forces and won another battle.
