Emancipation Proclamation Issued
On January 1st,1863 president Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation to a nation divided by war. The Proclamation stated that all people in the state controlled by the confederacy were free.
Thirteenth Amendment abolishes slavery - by states loyal to union. It was the amendment that truely freed slavery
Fourteenth amendment guarantees citizens equal protection
Representatives shall be appointed among the several states
Fifteenth amendment strengthens voting rights - The right of citizens of United States to vote shall not be denied.
